We invite you on a captivating journey through the city that shaped the life and work of one of the most influential \u2014 and complex \u2014 artists of all time: Francisco de Goya<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join us on a visit to two of the most emblematic corners of Madrid’s history: the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando<\/strong>, where many of this artist’s works are housed, and the impressive Basilica of San Francisco el Grande<\/strong>, which also forms part of the Goya universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, we will admire thirteen magnificent paintings by the painter who pioneered contemporary art: \u201cThe Burial of the Sardine,\u201d self-portraits, and his impressive engravings. Next, we will head to a typical bar<\/strong> in the center of Madrid to recharge our batteries before continuing on to the Basilica of San Francisco el Grande. There, in the so-called Goya Chapel<\/strong>, we will see the Aragonese painter’s work \u201cSan Bernardino de Siena preaching to Alfonso V of Aragon.\u201d We will also be able to admire paintings by artists such as Vel\u00e1zquez, Alonso Cano, Luca Giordano, Zurbar\u00e1n, and Mariano Benlliure, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But this is not merely a journey through art \u2014 it is an exploration of the man behind the brush. With the guidance of our expert storytellers, you will come to know Goya in his most human and revealing context<\/strong>: his unflinching critique of society, and his profound connection to the people of Madrid<\/strong>, whose everyday lives inspired much of his work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
