An intimate encounter with universal art, regarded as the country’s most important cultural institution.
Since 1819, the Museo Nacional del Prado has safeguarded some of the most treasured jewels of Western art. What began as a project for a Natural Sciences museum was transformed — thanks to Ferdinand VII — into the guardian of the royal collections of the Spanish Crown.
Its building, a neoclassical work by Juan de Villanueva, is itself a museum piece. Yet it is inside where time stands still: Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights, Velázquez’s Las Meninas, Goya’s Family of Charles IV… Each gallery reveals centuries of history, politics, aesthetics, and power.
More than a picture gallery, the Prado is a visual map of the European soul. To walk through its halls is to understand how taste evolved, how monarchs wrote their history through brushes, and how art became a universal language.
At Voilàrt, we invite you to experience the Prado from another perspective: more intimate, more cultured, more truly yours.
